PAROS
Paros
Being in the heart of Cyclades islands, very close to Mykonos, Santorini, Sifnos, Ios and Naxos, Paros offers the perfect chance for island hopping experiences!
Parikia - Panagia Ekatontapiliani
The capital of the island, Parikia, is a beautiful Cycladic village with whitewashed cubic houses and impressive neoclassical mansions. In Parikia, close to the port, visit the imposing church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani (also known as the Church of 100 doors). It is one of the most important and best preserved Christian churches of Greece. At the same location there was a chapel, before the 4th century.
Naoussa - Lefkes – Marpissa villages
Explore Paros’ beautiful traditional villages like Naoussa, a colourful village and the most famous of the island, where the ruins of a Venetian fortress stand at the entrance to its small harbour. The traditional village of Lefkes is located at the highest point of the island, offers a magical view of the Aegean Sea and is set up in the mountains, surrounded by a rich green landscape. Don’t miss out the traditional village Marpissa, which has a distinctive medieval character and a history dating back to the 15th century. It is located on a hill, a few kilometres away from the famous beaches of Logaras and Pisso Livadi.
Kolybithres Beach - Golden Coast Beach
Paros is famous for its beaches! Huge, sandy, with crystal clear waters and many facilities, its beaches are stunning! Santa Maria, Golden Beach Paros, Punta, and Kolybithres are some of the most famous beaches in Paros, while there are also many secluded beaches, for those who seek privacy!
Paros’ ideal wind conditions, thanks to “Meltemi” wind, rank it as a top destination for water sports, such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. Sailing races and the Windsurfing World Championship are being organized every summer in Paros, attracting visitors from all over the world!
Authentic Cycladic Gastronomy
The local cuisine of Paros with top quality fruits and vegetables and local seafood, all cooked with original recipes that have remained unchanged over the years, is an authentic Cycladic gastronomy representative. It is no coincidence that it is from this island that some of the best Greek chefs have sprung and are winning major awards in global culinary meetings.
Don’t forget to taste the sweet smelling wines produced in the island’s vineyards. Paros is one of the oldest Mediterranean wine-making areas, with its own protected designation of origin wines!
